What important invention was made during World War II?

The invention of the first electronic computer, ENIAC, was made during World War II.The Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) was the first electronic general-purpose computer, designed by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert of the University of Pennsylvania during World War II. The machine was commissioned by the United States Army to calculate artillery firing tables. ENIAC was completed in 1945 and was capable of performing 5,000 additions, 357 multiplications, and 38 divisions in a single second. The machine weighed 30 tons, occupied 1,800 square feet of floor space, and used more than 18,000 vacuum tubes. Despite its size, ENIAC was a significant improvement over mechanical calculators and paved the way for the development of modern computers. Its success led to the development of the Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator (EDSAC) in the United Kingdom and the Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer (EDVAC) in the United States.

allied powers during ww2

During World War II, a group of nations formed a military alliance to fight against the Axis powers. This alliance included the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union, as well as other countries. Together, they worked to defeat Germany, Italy, and Japan. One example of their cooperation was the D-Day invasion of Normandy, where American, British, and Canadian forces landed on the beaches of France to liberate it from Nazi control.
